Hello! I'm Rachel and I write to you from the unceded territory of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil- Waututh) Nations. Also known as the beautiful west coast city of Vancouver, BC, I feel grateful to live and work on this land.
Mindfulness practice has helped me come to accept and grow from one of the most pivotal moments of my life. At age 35, I experienced some complications with my reproductve system and I learned I was not fertile.
This was a rite of passage that tuned me in to my power, strength, and resilience. The inability to bear children gave me space to learn to parent my own inner child and to learn deeply and intimately about self love.
In my twenties, I couldn't answer the question, "What do you want?" I began seeking and the journey continues to be fruitful. People used to call me flaky because I changed my mind a lot. I was simply exercising my freedom to choose what makes me happy. Following my intuition, things did not always turn out as I expected or wanted. I've learned that not having the answers is part of what makes life so sweet. This unknown space provides romance and the freedom to play, create, and discover.
Most of my professional life has been in the world of wellness. For over 15 years I've learned and studied, coached and been coached, practised and taught. I continue to chart my own path and the sense of liberation I feel fuels me to keep going!
I call my higher purpose "Heartfelt Empowerment." This means my I help people discover the truth that lies within their hearts. I am devoted to spreading love and to creating and holding space for people to find what matters most to them. With coaching, I blend breath, movement, intention, and writing. Because I believe love is at the root of all, I hold safe space for expression, however it shows up.
My recent learnings are especially supportive to my work. I completed my 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher training in 2014 and this year, I am near completion of 2 Coaching credentials: CLC - Certified Leadership Coach and ACC- Associate Certified Coach. I work within the ethics, standards, and guidelines provided by the International Coach Federation. This not only holds me accountable as a coach; it also ensures I am aligned with the yogic principle or yama of ahimsa, which means non-harming in thoughts, words, and actions. The Earth itself is a space for learning, and I am a lifelong student of both theory and practice in the ever-expanding field of Human Potential.
My life's work, my education, and my hobbies overlap. I love to travel, dance, and create. I currently volunteer with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada and I believe in supporting local farmers, music, businesses and art. Inclusivity and accessibility of resources, programs and services are very important to me.
I am deeply in love with my journey. Whatever your journey, know that you are worth everything you can dream of and so much more.
If you are open to my support, it would be a privilege to connect.
Big love to you - thank you for visiting!
